A superb Yupik - Inuit of incredible expressiveness. This in my many years viewing of dealing in Eskimo material is the finest example of its type. A dance mask, it has the feeling the stark isolated area of the Eskimo people. The patina and wear that is exhibited on this piece additionally adds to the "gaze" of this truly incredible object.
