These menus by the artist Eugene Savage were produced between 1948–1956 for the Royal Hawaiian Hotel as well as S.S. Lurline. Originally based on a set of murals commissioned by the Matson Navigation Company in 1938, they are highly prized by collectors worldwide. In 1951, Savage's genius was honored in American Lithographs at the Smithsonian Institution.
