Tlingit Salmon Rattle

This sculpture has a warm, old patina. Lots of wear is present towards the tail, which is most likely where it was "rattled." In all the years of handling this type of art I have never seen another. Used in a Potlatch Ceremony, it would certainly be interesting to go back in time and see this great object in use. Label on inside: "Chief Sunny Hearts Lodge – Between Kassan and Kanta Bay." The original bindings and pebbles are missing.
