A fine pipe bowl made of Catlinite, carved to resemble a horse head and saddle. The horse's eyes, mouth, and mane are articulated through lite incising. The shank is square-based and the prow of the bowl terminates with a tapered circle. The accompanying stem is largely undecorated, save for a incised cap - a trade item which has been recycled to be used as a mouthpiece. A true masterpiece of form and function.
